Kingfisher

Kingfisher

ORIGINAL - EXHIBITION 6 x 6 inches Cards and prints available This green pour had the suggestion of a stream running across the bottom. I liked the way the iridescent green looks like the sun falling on leaves at the riverside. He comes in a white frame.

White Peacock

White Peacock

ORIGINAL - SOLD 8 x 8 inches Cards and prints available This wild peacock-hued pour was much too bold to take many subjects, but I thought it would be fun to add a white peacock as contrast. It's as if all his colours have slipped off into the background. He comes in a shiny copper coloured frame.

Robin

Robin

ORIGINAL - SOLD 4 x 4 inches Cards available Just in time for Christmas, I found a miniature poured canvas which looked frosty and cold. Nice home for a winter Robin.

Kingfisher

Kingfisher

ORIGINAL - SOLD 6 x 6 inches Cards and prints available One of a riverside pair with an otter. Comes in a stained wood frame.

Hinterland

Hinterland

ORIGINAL - SOLD 10 x 14 inches Cards and prints available This pour looked like a barren coastline with a storm coming in. I chose the Raven with his blues, purples and greens to blend in with his environment. If you look closely at the dead branch, there's the suggestion of another scary creature on the far right ;)

Sunrise

Sunrise

ORIGINAL - £300 12 x 12 inches Cards and prints available I thought the colours in the 'sky' of this pour looked like the sun was just starting to appear behind the hills - so there had to be a cockerel alert and ready to call out and let us know. This painting comes with a wooden frame.

Swimming Penguin

Swimming Penguin

ORIGINAL - SOLD Cards and prints available 8 x 8 inches This is the second in my new Zoo series. The pour consists of many layers of beautiful metallic colours, with a pale silver corner representing the surface and sunlight. I thought the sharp colours gave a wonderful cold water effect for the penguin to swim through.

Tropical Paradise aka Polly

Tropical Paradise aka Polly

ORIGINAL - SOLD Prints and cards available 12 x 10 inches One of my first and still one of my favourite paintings. The wooden stump has been angled to follow the underlying pour and make the macaw blend into the abstract leafy background. I love how the colours play against each other.

Cockatoo

Cockatoo

ORIGINAL - £250 Prints and cards available 12 x 10 inches A controlled pour to produce a jungle background suitable for a bird. The colours were too strong for anything other than this cheeky cockatoo.

Midnight Owl

Midnight Owl

ORIGINAL - SOLD Prints and cards available 8 x 10 inches A fairytale landscape which needed an embellished moon to make itself seen. I love the look on this owl's face as he looks over his shoulder.

Moon Owl

Moon Owl

ORIGINAL - £300 Prints and cards available Acrylic on Canvas 12 x 12 inches This was one of the last paintings I did before I started to use poured backgrounds. I tried to make the full moon's craters accurate.

Red Macaws (Detail)

Red Macaws (Detail)

ORIGINAL - £300 Prints and cards available 12 x 12 inches A controlled pour to produce a lush tropical jungle effect. The red of the macaw feathers pops against the green.

Blue Macaw (Detail)

Blue Macaw (Detail)

ORIGINAL - £225 Prints and cards available 10 x 12 inches My very last pre-pouring painting! This blue macaw has been given a background to reflect his South American home.

Swooping Owl

Swooping Owl

ORIGINAL - £160 Prints and cards available 10 x 8 inches From a photo by John Sands, used with permission. I had a lovely woodland background, but could not find a suitable copyright free reference photo. This prize winning photo by John was the answer. Many thanks!

Grey Owl

Grey Owl

ORIGINAL - £145 Prints and cards available 7.5 x 9.5 inches A random pour which gave an organic background suitable for another of my favourite owl subjects.

Osprey

Osprey

ORIGINAL - £350 Prints and cards available 20 x 16 inches This started as a random pour but the outcome was a startling abstract representation of sky, clouds and river. The hovering osprey wasn't complete without a rainbow trout just below the surface.
